Information about the Trust Overview

The Trust is a charity regulated by the University.  It is governed by its Trustees, who are all senior academic members of the University, and administered on a day-to-day basis by the Director and her staff

It receives a generous annual donation from Trinity College, and also has income from its accumulated reserves.  It produces a detailed Annual Report for the University and for Trinity College, and annual accounts

Though most of its funding comes from Trinity College, the Trust is very interested in hearing from others who may wish to support its activities.

Donations to the Trust for research activities are channelled to its Opportunities Fund.  The aim of this fund is to assist the recruitment of young academics who need start-up support in facilities or staff, and to help Faculties to seize funding opportunities for risky or innovative projects which can attract only partial funding from outside Cambridge.   Prospective donors to it are encouraged to contact the Trust for further information.   Please see the relevant tabs for information about our range of research granting activites.
