Bursary Donors

The Armourers and Brasiers originated as a guild of armourers in 1322 and has occupied the same site in the City of London since 1346. The Company concentrates its charitable giving on materials science education to carry forward its ancient traditions in metalwork. Bursaries are available to third-year students reading Materials Science and Metallurgy in Part IIa/IIb or Part III of the Natural Sciences Tripos.

The Atlantic Philanthropies is an organisation that seeks to identify and support leaders, institutions, and organisations dedicated to learning, knowledge-building, and solving pressing social problems. They proactively fund programs and projects that value voluntary service, philanthropic giving, scholarship, and research. Within the higher education area they hope to provide opportunities for students regardless of background. By collaborating with the Isaac Newton Trust they hope to expand access for underrepresented individuals and help to engender lifelong habits of service and volunteerism.

Caterpillar is the world's leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines and industrial gas turbines. The Caterpillar Foundation has distributed almost $200m to support a range of causes including education. Caterpillar Cambridge Bursaries are for students reading Mechanical Engineering. The Caterpillar Scholarship Programme also awards prizes for academic achievement.

It aims to match global thinking with local knowledge. The Citi Foundation is committed to enhancing economic opportunities for individuals and families, particularly those in need, in the communities where we work so that they can improve their standard of living.

Clifford Chance is an international law firm which offers a full range of legal services to businesses, financiers and governments from thirty-two locations around the world. These bursaries are for students reading Law.

George and Marie Vergottis Fund. In August 2001, the University received a generous legacy from Mrs Marie Vergottis to establish The George and Marie Vergottis Fund. The Fund provides scholarships to both undergraduate and graduate students at the University who are Greek citizens, supporting them as they begin or continue their education at Cambridge.

Man Group plc is a leading global provider of alternative investment products and solutions and one of the world's largest futures brokers. The group employs over 4,000 people in 16 countries. Man Group bursaries are for students taking courses in Mathematical disciplines.

Thermo Fisher Scientific is the world leader in analytical instruments operating in 30 countries. The Life and Laboratory Sciences segment provides analytical instruments, scientific equipment, services and software solutions for life science, drug discovery, clinical, environmental and industrial laboratories. The Measurement and Control segment is dedicated to providing analytical instruments used in a variety of manufacturing processes and in-the-field applications. Thermo Fisher Scientific Bursaries are awarded to students reading Natural Sciences.
