Employment protection for PDRAs employed on INT grants

In line with the University's Contract Extension Scheme (CES), INT has offered extensions to the 31 July 2020 for any INT Research Grant ending in the period 31 March-30 June where the employed PDRA had not found alternative funding or employment.  Three grants of this type have been awarded.

Following the University Council's decision to end the CES at the end of July, the INT will not routinely be offering paid extensions beyond this date.

Compension for lost research time/PDRA support

If you feel you have a strong case for a paid extension for a PDRA employed on your INT grant who has been unable to work for a major part of your award and who needs a bridge to get him or her to the start of a new grant or appointment, you may apply for an Emergency Grant - the next round of this competition is in Michaelmas Term with a decision date in late November.

No-cost Extension/Grant Deferral

The following possibilities are still available on request to all INT grant holders affected by the COVID shut-down:

  • No-cost extension to an existing grant
  • Deferral of the start date of a new award

The INT office is currently closed, but staff are continuing to work from home, so please contact us by email if you have any questions or comments.
