Who will my personal information be shared with?

Your personal information as described above is shared with staff at the Isaac Newton Trust, and, where necessary, with Trustees https://www.newtontrust.cam.ac.uk/about/TrustOff and their academic advisors https://www.newtontrust.cam.ac.uk/about/subcomms.

In addition, it is shared as permitted or required by law, on a considered and confidential basis, with:

  • External bodies co-funding your award (e.g. the Leverhulme Trust);
  • The auditors of the Isaac Newton Trust;
  • Academic referees nominated by the applicant’s department or faculty;
  • Subsidiary companies of the University, such as Cambridge Enterprise https://www.enterprise.cam.ac.uk/, where necessary for the management of an award.

Sharing of information outside the European Economic Area occurs only when an academic referee is located outside the EEA. Such transfers are carried out with appropriate safeguards in place to ensure the confidentiality and security of your personal information.

How is my personal information used in publicity?

In the case of successful applicants, basic information (applicant’s name, department/faculty or college, name(s) of funded postdoctoral workers, amount of award) will be published on the Trust’s website https://www.newtontrust.cam.ac.uk/ and in our Annual Reports https://www.newtontrust.cam.ac.uk/about/AnnualReports

You may opt out of this at any time by contacting us https://www.newtontrust.cam.ac.uk/about/contactus
