There is no application form.

A proposal should normally be no more than two sides of A4 and consist of the following:

  • College or Colleges making the application;
  • contact person (name and email address);
  • overall projected cost; joint proposals between Colleges should make it clear what proportion should be attributed to each, to count towards the overall maximum of £50,000 per College in any academic year;
  • brief description of the project, including a timetable;
  • budget setting out how the grant will be deployed.

Please note that:

  • Costs for participant hospitality (residential rooms; formal halls and other meals) should be at internal student or outreach rates, not at commercial or peak season rates;
  • Costs for teaching space should be covered by the host College;
  • Colleges are advised to consult with the appropriate subject specialists in the relevant University Department or Faculty where appropriate when developing an application.

The above should submitted as a single pdf to administrator@newtontrust.cam.ac.uk to arrive no later than 5pm on Thursday 1 June 2023.

Please mention in the subject line of the email that it is an application for the WPIF.
